Transport authorities in the south of Sweden were celebrating this afternoon when construction workers finally completed a railway tunnel through the Halland mountain ridge.
The project began 20 years ago but had to be abandoned in the late 90s when an attempt to stop water leaks into the tunnel with over a thousand tonnes of concrete and other chemicals polluted nearby rivers.
